GRID PAINTINGS

Chris' experience of laying patios and building walls with his dad strongly influenced the making of these works. Constructing physical, interactive grids that can bring added beauty to a setting. The grid is a predetermined, ordering structure which you can choose to follow or disrupt. In these works, Chris has chosen to do both to follow and disrupt. A talking relationship between pre-used building materials and art supplies is evident - how they touch by placement, and how they are brought together visually through harmony or for that matter disharmony.
